How do I add fish to a new pond?

Before adding fish to a new or cleaned out pond it is best to wait a minimum of 72 hours for the water chemistry and temperature of the pond to stabilize. When it is time to begin adding fish to the pond, be sure you build the population slowly. Start by only adding a few fish at first and waiting a week or two before adding in a few more. Continue this process until you have added all the pond fish you desire.

do i need a water supply for my water feature?

No, the water is re-circulated using a pump. You do need an electricity supply to power the pump and lights. We can size the exact pump you require so that you get the exact effect you wish while using the minimum of electricity. Our range of pumps are Eco friendly and have the highest output flow rate for the minimum electricity usage

How can I control organic growth, such as algae?

water features are of course lovely additions to any garden or home, but without proper maintenance, they can become breeding grounds for algae. Algae are a diverse group of aquatic organisms that have the ability to conduct photosynthesis. To prevent algae growth, we recommend that fountains and ponds be drained and cleaned every few months with mild soap. You may also use fountain algaecides, such as EasyCare FounTec Algaecide and Clarifier, which is safe for plants, birds, and wildlife, but not fish. It also helps keep water bodies free of mosquito larvae.
